AMD is seeking user performance logs on RDNA3/RDNA4 GPUs, including Strix Halo APU systems, to improve the performance of PyTorch, ComfyUI, and Stable Diffusion by optimizing relevant kernels and libraries.
Gigabyte's BIOS update for its motherboards reveals that a new series of APUs, the Ryzen 8000G series, will be released in January 2024. These APUs will feature the same Zen 4 CPU architecture as the current Ryzen 7000 desktop CPUs and will be compatible with socket AM5 motherboards. The top-end chip, Ryzen 7 8700G, will have eight Zen 4 CPU cores and a Radeon 780M GPU with 12 RDNA 3 compute units. The APUs are expected to outperform previous generations with the use of RDNA 3 GPU cores and faster DDR5 RAM.
AMD has announced two new Radeon graphics cards, the Radeon RX 7700 starting at $449 and the Radeon RX 7800 priced at $499, targeting the enthusiast class and offering a 1440p gaming experience. The cards were unveiled at Gamescom and will be available starting September 6.
AMD highlights the VRAM advantage and value of its Radeon GPUs over GeForce GPUs, offering up to 16 GB memory with a starting price of just $499 US. The Radeon RX 6800 16 GB graphics card starts at $499 US and offers twice the memory and better performance compared to the RTX 3070. The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT costs around $50 US more than the RTX 4070 Ti and offers 8 GB higher VRAM. While AMD offers more VRAM per segment at a better value, it should be remembered that they aren't the cheapest 16 GB options around.
