Patrick Crusius, the white gunman who killed 23 people in a racist attack on Hispanic shoppers at a Texas Walmart in 2019, has agreed to pay over $5 million to the victims' families. Crusius, who was sentenced to 90 consecutive life sentences in federal prison, reached an agreement with the Justice Department over the restitution amount. The attack, fueled by Crusius' racist beliefs, was one of the deadliest hate crimes in the U.S. linked to mass shootings.
