
"Kansas City Elects New Council Members and Considers Changing Election Dates"
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas won a second term with 80.6% of the vote, while five sitting council members won their races for another four-year term. The KC Tenants Power group endorsed six candidates, with four winning their races. The new city council will tackle issues such as affordable housing and increasing gun violence, as well as big-ticket developments like a potential downtown baseball stadium, the 2026 World Cup, and an urban park above a portion of the downtown loop.
