Twitter urged to remove "government-funded media" label by public media body.

The Global Task Force for Public Media has called on Twitter to correct the designation of four of its members on the site, including the ABC in Australia, CBC/Radio Canada, Korean Broadcasting System, and Radio New Zealand, which are currently labeled as "Government-funded Media." The Global Task Force said that labeling them as such "misleads audiences about their operational and editorial independence from government." The networks have requested the "Publicly-funded Media" label instead. Twitter has been criticized for its inconsistent and incoherent patchwork of labels for public service media bodies on its site.
