University of Georgia Researchers Use AI to Discover New Planet
Researchers at the University of Georgia have discovered a new planet in another solar system using a machine-learning model that analyzed hundreds of images of protoplanetary planes taken by the ALMA Space Telescope in Chile. The model was developed by a PhD candidate in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and could replicate what humans had done for decades.
