A Biglaw firm has reported profits per equity partner of $561,000 in 2022, which is significantly lower than the average profits per equity partner in the Am Law 100, which was $2,564,818.
More than half of the top Biglaw firms in the US saw a decline in revenue percentage in 2022, according to the American Lawyer's Am Law 100 law firm rankings. The report revealed a mixed bag for the top Biglaw firms in the nation, with some firms coming out on top, while others were merely surviving. The slowdown in deal work from 2021 was expected, and in some cases welcome, after a banner but exhausting year. Kirkland remained the top firm by gross revenue for the sixth year in a row, while Wachtell was knocked out of the top spot for profits per partner by Kirkland.
