Amazon Alerts 220 Million Prime Customers to Impersonation and Login Scams
Amazon has issued a warning to 220 million Prime customers about a surge in impersonation scams involving fake emails, phone calls, and fake websites aimed at stealing personal and payment information. The scams include fake subscription alerts, account suspension threats, order confirmation frauds, tech support scams, and fake job offers. Amazon advises customers to verify communications through official channels, enable two-factor authentication, and use the Amazon Message Center to identify legitimate messages. The company has also partnered with the BBB Scam Tracker to help users report and identify scams.
