Law firm leaders resign after sending offensive emails.
Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith has released emails containing "wildly offensive and demeaning language" exchanged by former partners John Barber and Jeff Ranen, who left the firm with over a hundred others last month to form their own law firm, Barber Ranen. The emails contained the C-word, the N-word, and LGBTQ slurs. Both lawyers resigned from Barber Ranen after the emails were released. Lewis Brisbois is conducting a broader review of Barber and Ranen's behavior at the firm, including a full review of their correspondence, but is taking no disciplinary action at this time.
