Aston Martin partners with Lucid for cutting-edge electric powertrains.

Aston Martin has signed a technology partnership with US-based EV startup Lucid, which will provide the British carmaker with access to Lucid's powertrains and battery systems technology. The deal, worth $450m, will see Aston Martin pay Lucid $232m in cash and shares and at least $225m on powertrain components. The partnership will allow Aston Martin to create a bespoke BEV platform suitable for all future products, from hypercars to SUVs. The first of these EVs is due in 2025.
