Nationwide Train Delays Caused by Norfolk Southern System Outage
Norfolk Southern experienced a Positive Train Control (PTC) outage, causing a disruption in train services across its system. Trains, including those operated by Amtrak, were unable to move due to the inability to connect to the PTC network. While Norfolk Southern stated that the issues were being resolved, the outage continued into the evening, resulting in train cancellations and significant delays. This is not the first time a PTC outage has impacted railroad operations this year.
