Porsche's Taycan Turbo EV Shatters Nürburgring Record, Outpaces Tesla
Porsche has reclaimed the electric sedan Nürburgring lap record from Tesla with a new track-focused Taycan model, achieving a lap time of 7:07.55 minutes. This new Taycan GT, developed with significant input from Porsche's Flacht GT department, features lower suspension and aggressive aerodynamics. While still a prototype, the car outperformed the Tesla Model S Plaid by 18 seconds, positioning it close to electric hypercar performance. Porsche plans to release the full-lap video in mid-March, hinting at the potential debut of a production version.
