Porsche's pre-series Taycan, driven by Lars Kern, has set a new lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of 7:07.55 minutes, beating the previous record by 26 seconds. This performance places the Taycan on par with electric hypercars and demonstrates a significant leap in electric vehicle performance, with the pre-series car outperforming the 2022 Taycan Turbo S by over 1.3 kilometers on the 20.8 km track. An onboard video of the lap will be released in mid-March.
