Chuck Negron, Voice Behind Three Dog Night’s Classics, Dies at 83
Chuck Negron, one of the original lead singers of Three Dog Night, died at 83 at his Studio City home. The Los Angeles band had 21 Top 40 hits between 1969 and 1975, including three No. 1s, with Negron on leads for songs like One and Joy to the World; he later pursued a solo career after the group’s breakup and publicly battled addiction before reconciling with bandmate Danny Hutton. Negron’s COPD contributed to his health decline in later years.
