Tunisian footballer dies in anti-police protest
Tunisian footballer Nizar Issaoui died after setting himself on fire to protest against police injustice. Issaoui, a former player for top-flight side US Monastir, was falsely accused of terrorism by police officers in Haffouz, central Tunisia, after complaining about the high price of bananas. He was rushed to a hospital with third-degree burns but died on Thursday. His death sparked clashes between protesters and police, who used tear gas to try and settle the crowds.
