Chicago police have issued an alert after a series of 12 armed robberies occurred on the South and Southwest sides within just one hour on Thanksgiving morning. The incidents involved two to four individuals wearing dark clothing and ski masks who approached victims with guns and stole from them. The suspects fled the scenes in a blue four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota or Hyundai.
Maine police issued a statewide awareness alert last month after receiving threats from Robert Card, the U.S. Army reservist suspected of killing 18 people in two mass shootings. The alert urged officers to be on the lookout for Card, who had allegedly threatened to shoot up the National Guard Base where he had trained. Despite extra patrols and efforts to locate him, Card was not found until recently when he was discovered dead in a tractor-trailer, having died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Divvy bikes were also used by the perpetrators in many of the incidents. Police have described the suspects as individuals between the ages of 15 and 25 wearing dark-hooded sweatshirts, dark jeans, and black ski masks. The public is urged to be aware of their surroundings, not pursue assailants, and call 911 immediately.
The Tybee Island Police Department is on high alert for another potential unpermitted event called Peach Fest, which is being promoted online. The police department is taking seriously a message circulating online that said there is "going to be a gang shootout on Tybee Island at Peach Fest so nobody go to Tybee this weekend." City leaders are calling in extra first responders and putting additional lighting out in parking lots at the south end of the island.
Two children, Kayden and Kendall Smith, have been reported missing from Bristol, Virginia, and are believed to be in extreme danger. They were last seen with Barbara L. Smith and Charles W. Lewis, who were driving a white 2005 Ford Focus with Virginia tags TUG-5104. The Bristol City Police Department has issued a missing and endangered person alert and is asking for any information on their whereabouts.
