Jeremy Pruitt, former head coach at Tennessee and defensive coordinator at Alabama, has been hired as the new PE teacher at Plainview High School in Alabama. He will also assist with the boys basketball team. This is a homecoming for Pruitt, as he attended Plainview High School and his father is the head football coach there.

Dangerous escaped Texas inmate captured near Abilene

Trent Thompson, a 22-year-old escaped inmate from Plainview's Formby Unit, was found and taken into custody Sunday morning. Thompson was convicted of three counts of Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant. The Plainview Police Department warned the public of his dangerous criminal history and advised them to contact local law enforcement instead of approaching him.
