The Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters bundle, which includes six games, has sold over two million copies across all platforms, with the PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions contributing to the milestone. The collection was originally released for PC and smartphones and was updated with new fonts and boost modes for its console release. It is unclear how well each individual game sold.
Final Fantasy pixel remasters will be released on Switch and PlayStation on April 19th with an additional font option that replicates the original games. Other new features include the ability to switch off random encounters and adjust experience gained multipliers. The games are available digitally both individually or as a complete series on each console, and players who purchase before May 25th will receive themed wallpapers. The physical versions of the game are no longer available.
Square Enix has announced that the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series will be released on PS4 and Switch on April 19. The PS4 and Switch versions will have a new "pixel-based" font, the option to switch between the orchestral soundtracks made for the Pixel Remasters, and the original soundtracks from the 8-bit and 16-bit era. Players will also be able to turn off random encounters so they can explore without interruption, or turn on the ability to boost experience up to 4x to reduce the need for grinding. A limited physical edition and a Collector's Edition are also available.
