Tragedy Strikes Pico de Orizaba: 2 Climbers Dead, 1 Missing
Two climbers have died and one is missing on Pico de Orizaba, Mexico's highest mountain, after a 12-member climbing group encountered difficult weather conditions. The body of a guide was found at an altitude of 15,000 feet, and another member had previously died on the peak. Accidents on the mountain are not uncommon, with at least six deaths reported in recent years, including a 2018 incident involving a member of the U.S. diplomatic mission. Rescue efforts are ongoing for the missing climber.
