"Israel's Accusations of Media Collaboration with Hamas: Unveiling the Truth"

HonestReporting, an Israeli media advocacy group, accepted the denials by Reuters, the Associated Press, CNN, and The New York Times that they had no prior knowledge of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel. HonestReporting had questioned whether Palestinian photojournalists had tipped off the news organizations, which had used their images. HonestReporting distanced itself from Israeli government accusations and condemned calls for violence or death threats against media workers. The organization's article brought attention back to the Oct. 7 events, but it did not provide evidence of prior knowledge by the news groups.

Netanyahu Condemns Media's Ties to Hamas as CNN Severs Connection with Photographer

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized mainstream Western media for working with photojournalists embedded with Hamas, accusing them of being "accomplices in crimes against humanity." This comes as CNN cut ties with a freelancer who was photographed receiving a kiss from Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. The allegations were made in a bombshell investigation by media watchdog Honest Reporting, which accused several photojournalists of being too close to the terror group during an attack that killed over 1,400 people. Israel's Minister of Communications also issued a scathing letter to Reuters, AP, CNN, and The New York Times, demanding immediate action be taken. AP and Reuters denied prior knowledge of the attack, while CNN suspended ties with the freelancer.
