Actor Kevin Costner has invested over $20 million of his own money into his passion project, the film series "Horizon: An American Saga." The four-part epic, set during the expansion of the American West, has been in the works for nearly 30 years and is scheduled for release in 2024. Costner mortgaged part of his $50 million Santa Barbara property and expects to receive significant returns from the project. This is not the first time Costner has personally funded a film, having done so for "Dances with Wolves" and other projects in the past.
