The Implications of Permanent Daylight Saving Time
Colorado passed legislation to stay on permanent daylight saving time in 2022, but federal law currently prohibits states from doing so. If the law were amended, Colorado would experience later sunrises and sunsets in the winter, with the sun not rising until after 8 a.m. and never setting before 5 p.m. The summer hours would remain the same. Colorado can only switch to permanent daylight saving time if federal legislation is passed, but so far, all attempts to keep the entire country on daylight saving time permanently have failed.
