UCF pulls off road upset in Tucson, 58-55, without star for Arizona
UCF used a frontcourt-focused game to out-rebound Arizona 39-30 and score 38 points in the paint, handing the shorthanded Wildcats a 58-55 loss as Micky Perdue sat with a wrist injury. Arizona shot poorly (1-for-17 from 3 in the first half) and committed 23 turnovers, while Molly Ladwig sparked a late surge with eight straight points. Nora Francois added a double-double for Arizona, but UCF’s defense and depth prevailed as coach Becky Burke lamented consistency and depth ahead of a stretch of ranked opponents.
