
US Olympic ski jumper Patrick Gasienica dies in motorcycle accident at 24.
U.S Olympic ski jumper Patrick Gasienica died at the age of 24 after being involved in a motorcycle crash in the northwestern suburb of Chicago. Gasienica made his Olympic debut in Beijing and represented the U.S. at multiple events. He placed 49th on the normal hill and 53rd on the large hill in his only Olympic appearance. Gasienica is survived by his parents and two sisters.
