Vantage Travel's Bankruptcy Sale Surprises Customers with Generous Offers

Customers of bankrupt luxury cruise line Vantage Travel, whose trips were canceled, will receive 100% reimbursement in travel credits towards future travel under the new management of Pacific Travel. The agreement, outlined in federal bankruptcy court, allows customers until Nov. 30, 2028, to book with the new company, with caps on the value that can be applied to individual services. Oceangoing travel credits are capped at 50% of the trip's cost, while river cruises and land travel credits are capped at 20%. The credits can be transferred to others and used across multiple trips but cannot be used for airfare. Vantage Travel filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June, leaving customers out of pocket for $108 million in unpaid trips.
