Producer Orin Wolf is developing a stage version of Prince's iconic 1984 film "Purple Rain," with playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and director Lileana Blain-Cruz on board. The musical's launch details are yet to be announced, but it is expected to have a tryout run off-Broadway before potentially heading to Broadway. Prince's estate and music rights were only settled in 2022, six years after his death.
