Omaha Public Power District has determined that a damaged arrester on a power pole caused a power outage affecting over 2,400 customers in southwest Omaha. Power was restored by switching customers to neighboring circuits.
More than 2,300 customers in Omaha experienced a power outage on Monday morning, affecting an area from Harrison to I streets and 116th to 132nd streets. Omaha Public Power District troubleshooters are still investigating the cause of the outage, but power has been restored to over 1,500 people after workers closed a breaker at a substation that feeds the circuit.
