Eagles' Training Camp: Spotlight on Defensive Line and Safety Competition
The Philadelphia Eagles' off-ball linebacker group is a concern heading into training camp, with Nakobe Dean, Nicholas Morrow, and Christian Elliss vying for starting roles. Dean, a third-round draft pick in 2022, is expected to be the top guy and will wear the "green dot" helmet, relaying play calls to the defense. Morrow, a converted safety, has had success in coverage and is the favorite to start opposite Dean. Elliss has impressed in limited action and could contribute on special teams. Shaun Bradley and Davion Taylor will need to prove their value on special teams, while undrafted rookie Ben VanSumeren is seen as a developmental player.
