OceanGate Suspends Operations After Titanic Tourist Sub Implosion
OceanGate Explorations, the operator of tourist submersibles, has suspended all exploration and commercial operations following a fatal incident where one of its subs imploded en route to the Titanic shipwreck site, resulting in the deaths of all five people on board. The company's website now displays a banner announcing the suspension, and screenshots show that it has been in place since at least Tuesday. The U.S. Coast Guard has located the wreckage of the sub and recovered human remains.
