Toyota recalls 1.12 million vehicles in US due to airbag issues
Toyota is recalling 1.12 million vehicles worldwide, including 1 million in the United States, due to a potential air bag issue caused by a short-circuit in a sensor. The recall covers various models from 2020 to 2022, such as Avalon, Camry, Corolla, RAV4, Lexus ES, RX350, Highlander, and Sienna Hybrid. The Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensors may not work properly, leading to air bags not deploying correctly. The sensors ensure that air bags do not deploy if a small adult or child is in the front seat. Toyota dealers will inspect and replace the sensors if necessary, with notifications to owners starting in February.
