Republicans are expected to nominate Mazi Melesa Pilip, a former IDF soldier and registered Democrat, to run in the NY-3 special election to fill the seat left vacant by George Santos. Pilip, a largely unknown Nassau County legislator, will run on both the Republican and Conservative lines. The Nassau County Republican Party has endorsed Pilip twice before, despite her Democratic registration, stating that they endorse the best candidate regardless of party affiliation.
