Nothing has released the open beta of Android 14 with Nothing OS 2.5 for its first device, the Phone (1). The update brings a redesigned home and lock screen customization page, a new Atmosphere wallpaper effect, customizable double-press power button, new widgets, camera and system stability improvements, and various other enhancements and optimizations.
Android 14, also known as Nothing OS 2.5, is now rolling out to the Nothing Phone (2) after a beta program. The update brings new features such as widgets, customization options for the homescreen, a three-finger gesture for taking screenshots, and the ability to customize the double-tap of the power button. It also adds support for using the Glyph lights on the back to show the time left until a Google Calendar event. The update for the previous model, Phone (1), will arrive in Open Beta by the end of the year.
The Nothing Phone (2) is offering its users the opportunity to beta test the upcoming Android 14 update, known as Nothing OS 2.5. The update includes new features such as an upgraded back gesture, expanded lockscreen shortcuts, customizable gestures, a new screenshot editor, and new wallpapers. The beta is currently available for the Nothing Phone (2), with plans to release the update to all Nothing Phone (2) and Phone (1) users at a later date.
