Tornado wreaks havoc in Highlands Ranch, damages Northridge Elementary.
A tornado hit Northridge Elementary School in Highlands Ranch, causing damages to the roof and a tree. Some students were inside the building during a childcare program, but no injuries were reported as they followed shelter-in-place safety protocols. The tornado had an EF-1 rating and a track of around 6.3 miles long. The Douglas County School District is assessing the damages, and meteorologists may survey the damage on Friday.
