Philadelphia police are investigating a homicide after a man's body was discovered wrapped in a tarp inside the trunk of a car in the Northern Liberties neighborhood. The cause of death is currently unknown.

A 60-year-old man was beaten to death during a carjacking in Philadelphia's Northern Liberties neighborhood. Witnesses reported that two males on a dirt bike approached the victim, pulled him out of his parked Toyota Highlander SUV, and engaged in a physical altercation. One suspect drove away in the stolen vehicle while the other fled on the dirt bike. The victim was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Police used the Toyota mobile app to track the stolen SUV to Camden, New Jersey, where it was found abandoned. The investigation is ongoing.

A 25-year-old man died after crashing his 2011 Mercedes into a utility pole and a home in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia. The driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle. The victim was identified as Tyreese Clark. The incident caused a small fire at the residence, displacing two adults and three dogs. The police are investigating the accident, and it is not related to any shooting.
