Tesla's NACS connector gains widespread adoption in EV charging networks
Electrify America, a subsidiary of Volkswagen, has announced that it will add Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector to its fast charging networks in the US and Canada by 2025. This move aligns Electrify America with Tesla's EV charging standard and aims to increase vehicle interoperability and streamline public charging. Other automakers, including Ford, GM, Rivian, and Volvo, have also committed to providing NACS adapters to their EV owners, signaling a growing adoption of this charging standard. Volkswagen Group is currently evaluating the implementation of NACS for its North American customers.
