Patrick Royster, 42, of Taunton, was identified as the pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle on Route 1 in Wrentham, Massachusetts. The crash occurred at around 5:45 p.m. near Thurston Street, and it is believed that Royster was initially hit by one vehicle and then struck by another while disabled in the roadway. The incident is still under investigation, and it remains unclear if weather played a role in the crash.
The body of Keith McKechnie, who had been missing since September 7, was found inside a well on a property in Avon, Massachusetts. There were no obvious signs of trauma, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Regional mutual-aid resources were used to recover the body, and authorities have stated that there is no threat to the public.
Tornado warnings were issued for Providence County in Rhode Island and Bristol County in Massachusetts, as well as Norfolk County and Bristol County in Massachusetts, but have since expired with no reports of serious damage.
Brian Walshe has been indicted on murder charges of his wife, Ana Walshe, who was killed in their Cohasset home on New Year's Day. Walshe has also been charged with misleading a police investigation/obstruction of justice and the improper conveyance of a human body. The couple's three young boys were reportedly home at the time of the murder. Prosecutors suspect that Ana's remains may have been incinerated in a trash facility. Walshe remains held without bail and the case will be arraigned anew in the coming weeks.
