The Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable is calling for an immediate ban on non-lethal bullets used by LAPD, citing serious injuries and concerns over excessive force during protests, and warns that continued use may lead to more injuries and civil rights violations.
A knife-wielding suspect, previously arrested for murder and wanted for a parole violation, was arrested after a police pursuit in South Los Angeles. The suspect barricaded himself inside a white van and refused to come out, eventually hopping out holding two large knives and running down the street. Authorities shot non-lethal bullets at the suspect and took him into custody. The incident remains under investigation.
