An Indiana University of Pennsylvania police officer fired a shot at a knife-wielding suspect during an encounter near George P. Miller Stadium. The suspect, who was allegedly attempting a robbery, fled on foot but was eventually apprehended with the help of a Taser. There are no other suspects, and there is no threat to the public or the IUP community. The status of the officer who fired the shot remains undisclosed.
A knife-wielding suspect, previously arrested for murder and wanted for a parole violation, was arrested after a police pursuit in South Los Angeles. The suspect barricaded himself inside a white van and refused to come out, eventually hopping out holding two large knives and running down the street. Authorities shot non-lethal bullets at the suspect and took him into custody. The incident remains under investigation.
A suspect was taken into custody by the East Lansing Police Department after reports of a knife-wielding man on or near the Michigan State University campus prompted a secure-in-place alert. The suspect was seen on campus after an altercation with employees at a business in downtown East Lansing. The MSU Police Chief stated that the department "erred on the side of caution" by issuing the alert. No injuries have been reported.
