Unconventional Resting Place Proves Perfect for One Individual
Noah Creshevsky, an experimental electronic composer, chose to be buried on Hart Island, New York City's public cemetery, known as a Potter's Field. Despite being Jewish, Creshevsky rejected the idea of a traditional burial and was drawn to the simplicity, anonymity, and humility of being buried collectively. He believed in equality and didn't want death to be fetishized with real estate. Creshevsky's husband, David Sachs, supports his decision and plans to be buried on Hart Island as well.
