UGA's Jalen Carter avoids jail time in plea deal for fatal crash charges.

Former University of Georgia star Jalen Carter has pleaded no contest to traffic charges related to a crash that killed a teammate and a recruiting staffer in January. Carter agreed to 12 months of probation, a $1,000 fine, and 80 hours of community service. He must also complete a defensive driving course approved by the state. Carter is expected to be one of the top picks in this year’s NFL Draft.
