Embracer Group Layoffs Impact Insurgency Developer New World Interactive

Embracer has confirmed layoffs at New World Interactive, the developer behind Insurgency and Day of Infamy, as part of its ongoing restructuring program. The exact number of affected employees and departments is unknown. Embracer's subsidiary, Saber Interactive, has stated that development will continue on Insurgency: Sandstorm and other unannounced projects. This follows a series of layoffs at Embracer-owned studios, including Crystal Dynamics and Beamdog, as well as the potential closure of Timesplitters developer Free Radical. Layoffs are also occurring industry-wide, with EA confirming layoffs at Codemasters.

Embracer Group Shuts Down Insurgency Developer New World Interactive

New World Interactive, the developer behind games like Insurgency and Insurgency: Sandstorm, has been shut down by Embracer Group as part of a restructuring. The studio, which was acquired by Embracer Group in 2020, had multiple new games in development. Insurgency: Sandstorm, released in 2014, still had a significant player base.
