Despite his struggles, Contreras has a 10.4% walk rate and is in the 99th percentile in maximum exit velocity, 83rd in average exit velocity and 74th in hard-hit percentage, according to Statcast. The Cardinals are also in line to play the Giants at Birmingham, Alabama’s historic Rickwood Field at a showcase event in 2024.
