"UNC Field Hockey: Dominating the NCAA with Youthful Leadership"
The University of North Carolina (UNC) field hockey team, led by 23-year-old coach Erin Matson, won their 11th NCAA title, defeating Northwestern in an overtime shootout. Matson, the youngest Division I coach in the NCAA, is also the most decorated player in UNC's history. This is her first national title as a coach and fifth overall, coming just one year after scoring the deciding goal in UNC's 2022 national championship win. The Tar Heels have won seven consecutive ACC titles and five of the last six national championships.
