Sierra Leone Enforces Nationwide Curfew Following Security Breach
Sierra Leone has imposed a nationwide curfew after unidentified gunmen attacked a military barracks and attempted to break into an armoury in the capital, Freetown. The government stated that the security forces have repelled the attack and are in control of the situation. The political situation in the country has been tense since the disputed re-election of President Julius Maada Bio in June. Sporadic gunfire can still be heard in Freetown, and citizens are advised to stay indoors.
