Nigerian Doctors' Strike Continues Amid Laughable Allowance and Salary Increase Rejection
The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) in Nigeria has dismissed the approved N25,000 allowance for doctors by the government as laughable, stating that their ongoing strike continues. NARD had issued a two-week ultimatum for the implementation of their demands, including payment of arrears and salary restoration. The Nigerian government had approved the allowance for medical doctors and dentists in federal public service, but NARD President, Dr Emeka Oji, called it inadequate.
