Verizon's Memorial Day Deals: Free iPhone 15 Plus and Discounted YouTube Premium

Verizon Increases Prices for Older Unlimited Plans in March

Verizon is raising prices on its older 5G unlimited plans, including 5G Get More, 5G Play More, 5G Do More, and 5G Start unlimited, with increases of $4 per line per month for consumers and even higher jumps for some business plans, in an effort to push customers towards their newer, more expensive myPlan options. These older plans were previously superior due to included freebies, but Verizon now wants customers to pay for these perks separately. Customers can expect to be notified of the changes by January 25, with the price increases set to go live by March 1.

Verizon's New Smartphone Plans: Customizable Perks for $10 Each.

Verizon has launched new "myPlan" customizable smartphone plans that unbundle unlimited cellular service from the perks that Verizon has offered to subscribers in the past. The plans charge a base price for 5G access, and then an additional $10 for each perk that a subscriber wants to add. Existing customers will not need to change their plans, and can add additional perks to their current plans if desired. The new plans will be available starting on May 18.

Verizon has announced new simplified “myPlan” offerings that allow customers to piecemeal the subscriptions and features they want instead of choosing from complex plans. The new Unlimited Plus plan is basically Verizon’s outgoing top Get More plan, now at a lower price but without the included bonuses like Apple Music or Disney Plus. Customers can add these perks back as discounted “perks” at $10 each. The new myPlan offerings are available starting May 18th, with a promise that customers can tweak their choices at any time from their phone using the My Verizon App.

Verizon to End Free Disney+ Offer in New Unlimited Plans

Verizon will reportedly stop offering Disney+ with its 5G plans and instead provide a discounted Disney+ plan called "myPlan" that can be added to Verizon service plans for $10 a month. These new plans will offer more flexibility in adding additional services such as Walmart+ membership, 100 GB Mobile Hotspot, Apple One, and more. The plans will be slightly cheaper but come with 500 GB of uncapped data speeds, after which the plan will be capped at 5 Mbps speeds. Existing customers with Disney+ or the Disney Bundle will keep their plans, but new customers will not be eligible for the free offer.

Verizon is reportedly set to launch two new unlimited plans, Unlimited Welcome and Unlimited Plus, which will replace all current Verizon Unlimited plans. The new plans will be under a new "myPlan" identity, which will allow customers to choose their own plan perks to add on for $10/mo each. The current freebies like Disney+ may go away in favor of being able to add as many add-ons as possible. The new plans could arrive as early as May 15.
