Verizon is ending loyalty discounts for customers starting September 1, encouraging them to switch to its new customizable myPlan plans, amid rate hikes and a focus on high-quality customers, which has led to customer dissatisfaction and potential loss of postpaid clients.
Verizon is enhancing its streaming service offerings by providing a discounted $10 monthly subscription to YouTube Premium for myPlan subscribers starting May 30th. Additionally, Peacock will be added to Verizon's Plus Play digital content hub on June 5th. Verizon aims to become a streaming service middleman, offering various bundles and managing subscriptions through its platform. The company also introduced an Unlimited Phone Upgrade option for Unlimited Ultimate customers.
Verizon is raising prices on its older 5G unlimited plans, including 5G Get More, 5G Play More, 5G Do More, and 5G Start unlimited, with increases of $4 per line per month for consumers and even higher jumps for some business plans, in an effort to push customers towards their newer, more expensive myPlan options. These older plans were previously superior due to included freebies, but Verizon now wants customers to pay for these perks separately. Customers can expect to be notified of the changes by January 25, with the price increases set to go live by March 1.

The plans charge a base price for 5G access, and then an additional $10 for each perk that a subscriber wants to add. The plans will be slightly cheaper but come with 500 GB of uncapped data speeds, after which the plan will be capped at 5 Mbps speeds. Existing customers with Disney+ or the Disney Bundle will keep their plans, but new customers will not be eligible for the free offer.
