Nex Playground: Kinect-inspired motion gaming for the whole family

Engadget’s review of the Nex Playground finds a $249 motion‑tracking box that brings Kinect‑like family play to your living room, supporting up to four players with easy setup, offline play, and a solid library of kid‑friendly titles. Yet its biggest flaw is the ongoing cost: most games require Nex Play Pass subscriptions ($89/year or $49 for three months) plus a $29 Sports Pack, and there’s no option to buy games individually. Sony's Affordable Motion Tracking System and VRChat Body Tracking Kit Coming to the US

Sony is bringing its smartphone-based wearable motion-tracking system, Mocopi, to the US next month. The system consists of six motion trackers that attach to straps or clips worn on various body parts. The trackers communicate with a smartphone app over Bluetooth, allowing users to control virtual characters. The positional data can also be shared to a PC over wifi in real-time. Priced at $449, Mocopi offers a more affordable alternative to traditional motion capture systems, although it captures data at a lower frequency of 50Hz.
