Escalating West Bank violence sparks international concern and moral reflection
Rabbi Mosheh Lichtenstein, the co-head of the prestigious Har Etzion religious seminary in the West Bank, issued a strong condemnation of recent settler attacks on Palestinian villages, calling them a moral stain on all of them. He expressed disappointment that key leaders had not condemned the attacks and emphasized the need for serious soul-searching. Lichtenstein highlighted that the central problem with these attacks is the moral wrong they represent, and warned that they undermine claims to morality in the face of those who harm them. He also linked the violence to broader issues of violence in Israeli society and called for comprehensive action to address it.
