Morgantown police officer, Patrol Officer First Class Zane Breakiron, was killed in a single-vehicle wreck while off duty. Breakiron was a K-9 handler and had been with the department for almost seven years. The Monongalia County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
The remains found near Cheat Lake in West Virginia have been identified as Bryn Hargreaves, a professional rugby player who went missing in January 2022. The Monongalia County Sheriff's Office is waiting for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Hargreaves' last known location was his unit at the Whisper Creek Apartment Complex in Monongalia County.
