Fairphone's new over-ear headphones, the Fairbuds XL, feature modular construction for easy repairability and sustainability, with parts available for purchase directly from Fairphone. The headphones also offer active noise cancellation, water resistance, and a joystick control for easy operation. However, at €249, their sound quality is not competitive with other headphones in their price range. The lack of a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack and hit-or-miss experience with aftermarket dongles and USB cables is also a drawback. The headphones come with a two-year warranty, and spare parts are expected to be available for a similar length of time as spare parts for Fairphone's smartphones.
