MLS Teams Reveal Protected Lists for 2024 Expansion Draft
Inter Miami CF has announced its list of protected players for the 2024 MLS Expansion Draft, which will allow the new club, San Diego FC, to select up to five players from unprotected rosters of existing teams. Inter Miami's protected list includes 12 players chosen by the club, such as Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets, and eight automatically protected due to their Homegrown or Generation adidas status. The draft will take place on December 11, 2024, as part of San Diego FC's roster-building efforts for their inaugural season.
